Senior Recreation Center
The Senior Recreation Center provides a safe, welcoming, and energizing environment where our community’s adults 55 and over can enhance their quality of life by engaging in a healthy and active lifestyle. Urbandale is committed to its senior citizens and our Senior Recreation Center is a great example of how our community makes good on that commitment!
The programs and services offered by the Urbandale Senior Recreation Center that help keep life interesting, enriching, and fun are certainly no secret. With over 40,000 in attendance each year, these seniors certainly challenge the idea that growing old means slowing down!
Re-Opening Update Friday, May 7: Urbandale Senior Recreation Center to increase in-person offerings
We are excited to expand our in-person programs and amenities. Social distancing is currently required at all in-person USRC programming. Masks are required at indoor programs and highly encouraged at outdoor programming. We are working to provide a wide variety of programs that we can offer in compliance with current health guidelines. In addition, many of our current offerings on Zoom will continue.
Please check out the April/May edition of the Senior Newsletter for information on our current operations or our June/July edition of the Senior Newsletter for what is coming up next month. We look forward to having you join us when you are comfortable!

In order to follow current health guidelines, it is necessary to limit capacity in these classes. Registration is required, along with a registration fee to reserve your place in a class. Payment is due at the time of registration. Click here to register beginning May 18. If your preferred class is full, please put your name on the waitlist. This will help us determine interest and plan additional classes. We are continuing to offer several classes on Zoom at no charge. See the newsletter for class schedule. Social distancing is required. Masks are required at indoor classes and highly encouraged at outdoor classes.
Fitness Memberships Ending
When the building closed in March 2020, all active fitness memberships were put on hold. Now that we are resuming in-person fitness operations, but on a fee-based model, we have applied a credit to all fitness members' accounts for the balance of your fitness membership. You may use these credits to register for future programs. If you would prefer to receive a refund, please contact us. If you have questions about your credit, we're happy to help, just give us a call.
