DART is asking for public input to redesign its bus system.
Catch up quick: The "Reimagine" project aims to modernize and better align services with current travel patterns.
Zoom in: DART is considering two general concepts, one of which will be implemented in summer 2026.
One map prioritizes high ridership. In this design, a transit network has fewer total bus routes, but buses run more often, all-day, seven days a week along the busiest streets. This type of network may mean some people have to walk farther to a bus stop or have no access to public transit.
The other map prioritizes high coverage. In this design, a transit network has more bus routes and other types of service that ensure more people are close to public transit. Buses may run less often in this type of network because the service is more spread out.
What's next: Riders can also attend one of eight public meetings.
