A controlled prairie burn will take place today from 1-3 PM behind the Deerfield Retirement Community at 13731 Hickman Road in Urbandale. About one acre will be burned by the pond that is adjacent to part of the Raccoon River Valley Trail. This portion of the trail will be closed while the burn is taking place.
