104th Reconstruction – Hickman Road to Douglas Ave

Project Description:

This project is the total reconstruction of 104th Street from Hickman Road to Douglas Parkway as a three-lane urban section roadway. This road would have one lane in each direction plus a left turn lane. Storm sewer would be installed with this project to allow the ditches to be filled and curb and gutter used on the new street. Sidewalks will be provided on both sides of 104th Street.

Project Status Update, 04/02/2020:

104th Street paving is complete in Stages 1 and 2.  This is now a three lane section with a center left-turn lane.

On March 16th, the south end of 104th Street at Hickman Road closed (Stage 3A).  A detour is  posted.  See the maps below.  The Contractor will complete and re-open Stage 3A before closing and completing Stage 3B, the last section at the south end.  Grading and sidewalk work has also resumed in Stages 1 and 2.  This will require a lane closure and two-way traffic will be maintained.  Please watch for lane closures and flaggers as we facilitate access to businesses.

On Monday, April 6th, Justin Drive will be closed just WEST of 104th Street for two days to allow the Contractor to construct the storm sewer across this roadway.  The closure is a short section and will not reach to adjacent driveways.  This closure is currently scheduled for April 6th and 7th, weather permitting.

The schedule is subject to change based on weather, conditions in the field, and contractor coordination.  Check back to this page for project updates.  As always, please use caution in the construction zone and obey all traffic control, for your safety and the safey of others.  We appreciate your patience.

Access and Work Zones:

Portions of 104th Street will be completely closed to through traffic during construction. Access will be provided for businesses along the road during road closures. Please follow posted signs and detours for routing around construction.

Check back here for updates on closures as work progresses.
