This project provides for the reconstruction of Waterford Road from 156th Street west to 170th Street as a four-lane roadway with left turn lanes including grading, storm sewer, and a new bridge. The paving will be portland cement concrete with two 25-foot wide paving sections and a 15-foot grass median. The project will also include the construction of a second bridge over Walnut Creek. The bridge will be built to ultimately provide for 4-lanes of traffic and a 10-foot wide sidewalk on the north and south sides. A trail connection under the bridge will also be provided on the west side of the creek. It is anticipated that this project would be completed by the end of November 2018.
The contractor is working on paving and construction of the bridge.
Phase 1 is from 156th Street to just east of 165th Street. The contractor is scheduled to open the north 2 lanes to traffic from 163rd Street to 156th Street in the afternoon of Friday September 14th. One lane for eastbound traffic and one lane for westbound traffic will be provided in the north lanes until the south two lanes are completed. The new south lanes will remain closed for approximately two more weeks while paving and work on the bridge is completed. Waterford Road will remain closed to all through traffic.
Phase 2 is from 165th Street to 170th Street. Phase 2 including the intersection of 165th Street is scheduled to close on September 17th.
The contractor anticipates starting the paving in Phase 2 in early October.
