Waterford Road - 156th to 170th

This project provides for the reconstruction of Waterford Road from 156th Street west to 170th Street as a four-lane roadway with left turn lanes including grading, storm sewer, and a new bridge. The paving will be portland cement concrete with two 25-foot wide paving sections and a 15-foot grass median. The project will also include the construction of a second bridge over Walnut Creek. The bridge will be built to ultimately provide for 4-lanes of traffic and a 10-foot wide sidewalk on the north and south sides. A trail connection under the bridge will also be provided on the west side of the creek. It is anticipated that this project will be completed in June 2019.

Project Status Update - 05/14/19

Waterford Road is currently open from 156th Street to 163rd Street. Waterford Road from west of 163rd Street to 170th Street including the intersection of 165th Street at Waterford Road is closed. Waterford Road is closed to all through traffic.

The contractor has paved the eastbound and westbound lanes. The westbound lanes were moved up to last Saturday due to the weather forecast. The contractor will be focusing on the 165th Street intersection the rest of this week in hopes of beating the rain this weekend. It is still anticipated that by Memorial Day, the inside lanes will open for traffic to access 170th Street while the outside lanes are closed to allow for the construction of sidewalks and trail.
