Dog Park
About the Dog Park:
The Urbandale Dog Park opened on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 5:30pm. The Dog Park is an off-leash, 6-acre park located at 4905 68th Street. Amenities include: 24 parking stalls, separated large/small dog areas, a drinking fountain, benches and open greenspace.
Dog Park Hours:
Daily 6:30 a.m. to Sunset. Gates are locked after hours. (Every Monday morning from 6:30-10:00 a.m., the Dog Park will be closed for maintenance. The Dog Park may also be closed periodically due to maintenance. The City will communicate this to all users via email and our website.)
Age:
Dogs who enter the Urbandale Dog Park must be at least 6 months old and have a valid annual pass.
Fees:
Annual Urbandale Resident Dog Pass : $15
Annual Non-Resident Dog Pass: $40 (for the 2023 season), $45 for 2024 passes
Urbandale Residents / Non-Urbandale Residents:
REQUIRED: Current Rabies Vaccination
A current rabies vaccination certificate with veterinary information is required at the time of Dog Park pass purchase.
No Refunds:
Annual Dog Park passes are good for the calendar year and expire annually every year on December 31. There are no refunds/credits/pro-rated memberships/pro-rated refunds available after the sale. Passes and tags cannot be transferred to other dogs or dog owners.
Gates:
The gates at the Dog Park are locked. Once you purchase and receive your annual pass, you will receive a code to enter the park. Please do not share this code with others. If caught sharing, the City reserves the right to revoke your membership without a refund. The code will change during the calendar year, and this will be communicated to pass holders via email.
Small Dog Area:
Dogs in the Small Dog Area of the Dog Park can be no taller than 13" at the shoulder and weigh no more than 25 pounds.
Small dogs can use all areas of the Dog Park, but please keep in mind that it is possible for small dogs to be accidentally injured by larger dogs.
