Handmade & Homegrown

Calling all makers, creators, gardeners, farmers, and artists! We're seeking vendors for Urbandale Parks & Recreation's first Handmade & Homegrown event. This one-day curated market will feature items that are made or grown by local vendors. The event will be held on Sunday, October 2 at Walker Johnston Park, 9000 Douglas Ave., from 10am-2pm. Information for Vendors

All items sold must be handmade or homegrown by the vendor. Items that are mass-produced or resold are not allowed. If you register and arrive with items that are not handmade or homegrown, your registration will be cancelled and no refund will be given. Please note that electricity, tables and chairs are not provided. You may bring your own tables and chairs. Generators will be allowed as long as they are quiet. Tents must be secured for wind to prevent injury and damage. At this time, participants should plan for booths to be placed on grass surfaces.

Single Booth (10'x10') $35

Double Booth (20'x10') $65

Youth Single Booth (10'x10') $20

If registering for a youth booth, the vendor must be 17 or younger. 

After registering, a vendor packet with additional information will be emailed at a later date. Booth fees are refundable if cancelled by August 31. After that date, no refunds will be given for cancellations.

Set-Up/Tear Down

Set-up time: 7-10 am

Tear-down time: 2-4 pm

Vendors must be completed with set-up prior to 10 am and must remain on-site through 2 pm. More information on unloading and loading will be provided in a vendor packet by email at a later date.

Food Sales

If you plan to sell any food items, you must indicate so in your registration. Food samples require a handwashing station at the booth supplied by the vendor, in accordance with Iowa law. Exhibitors with food items need a temporary food license in the State of Iowa. Licensing information is available here.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is not offered in the park, if you would like to accept credit cards electronically, please plan to bring your own hotspot or wireless devices. We are not able to provide technical support.

Sales Tax

You are responsible to have a valid Iowa Sales Tax Permit. You can find more information here. 

Weather

It is our goal to hold this event rain or shine. If weather conditions are unsuitable or unsafe and the event is cancelled, we will refund registration fees.
