Accessible Yoga for YOUR Body - $32                                                

Are you experiencing physical challenges with the body and think that means you cannot practice yoga? Let me introduce you to Accessible Yoga!  This is yoga that welcomes bodies of all ages, sizes, shapes, abilities and backgrounds. This is yoga for those experiencing physical limitations, injury, chronic illness, living in a larger body, physical disability, mobility and balance concerns, or healing after a surgery. This is YOUR yoga. Variations are offered for every posture to meet YOUR body where it's at on that day. Practice fully seated , standing or move between the two. Janis guides you to explore and experience the variations to discover what is best for your body on that day. The practice is gentle, mindful and slow yet builds strength, stability and flexibility. Move your body with the breath and find the peace within. Janis Ware, RYT, of Your Yoga with Janis offers accessible/adaptive yoga, chair yoga, therapeutic yoga, yoga for non-traditional bodies and trauma-informed classes. Janis specializes in teaching yoga to those who think they cannot do yoga and believes all bodies are yoga bodies. Class size limited to 10 to provide safe distancing during movement & individual guidance on variations.  Please bring a yoga mat and a large bath towel. Combined BODYPUMP® and ZUMBA® - $50

This class is for participants who want to join the BodyPump AND Zumba class.  Register for both at one time for a discount price! and Every Body! Play.Learn.Love is a program provided by LifeTime Tennis. This program is geared for beginner and returning tennis players. It has been developed specifically for busy adults looking to learn the sport quickly. These partner-based, action-packed group lessons are taught by certified and LifeTime trained tennis pros. Men's Basketball Leagues - $425

Want to play some hoops this winter? Then this is the league for you and your friends. Maximum of 30 teams - so sign up early! We will play a 10-week season with a season ending tournament. Please specify which league you are interested in at registration (A or B). Please register captain's name only. No league play on December 26, January 2, January 16, and February 6. Pickleball Tournament - $20

Pickleball Tournament (Ages 18 and older). Sponsored by Scheels and the City of Urbandale. The City of Urbandale and SCHEELS are working together to sponsor this fun, social tournament to showcase the new pickleball courts at Walker Johnston Park! There are two divisions: Recreation and Competitive. You must pre register as a team to participate. There will be a maximum of 18 teams per division. Register today! Check in will begin at 7:45 a.m. and play will start at 8 a.m. More information will be sent out in advance once registered. Prizes will be awarded and food trucks will be on site with food/drinks available for purchase. This is not a USA Pickleball sanctioned event. Registration Deadline: September 3

What About Me? My Wellbeing Program (18+) - $5

It's your time! Start the new year right. Come join us for the "What About Me? My Wellbeing" program. Focus on your social, financial, and physical wellbeing. Learn how to build stronger relationships, manage your money, and enjoy good health, one step at a time. Bring a notebook, and be prepared to exchange ideas and set achievable goals. Four lively, research-based presentations and interactive discussion sessions will be conducted by four different ISU Extension Human Sciences instructors on Thursdays from 6:00 to 6:45 pm, Jan. 6 though Jan. 27. Winter Coed Volleyball League - $260

Join your friends for the winter season of Coed Volleyball in Urbandale! We will play an eight week schedule with a season ending tournament in March. Please specify which league you are interested in at registration. Games will be played on Sundays. Games will start anywhere between 6:30-8:30 and last 45 minutes and will. Double-headers are possible, depending upon number of teams registered. Maximum 30 teams so sign up early. Intermediate League  - For participants who have played in organized leagues and their skills have progressed beyond a beginner level. Participants that play at this level have a reasonable knowledge of the rules. Teams serve underhand & overhand, but do not have any jump serves. Teams usually have a bump, set, hit strategy, but may not always coordinate all three for every play. Teams keep the ball in play due to their athletic ability or their years of experience. (Please note this is not a beginner league). Advanced League - For players with a thorough understanding of the game. Players whose passing, setting or hitting skills are better than intermediate level and performed somewhat consistently. Teams usually have an offense-dominated game that includes designated setters. Includes a good amount of spiking and blocking. Registration Deadline: November 29

This workshop outlines key factors to consider prior to retirement and describes strategies for planning one's income in retirement. Yoga Basics with Beth - $40

Discover your strength, flexibility, and balance while you learn to decrease stress through movement and relaxation. This class series is designed for the absolute beginner. In the classes, you will experience gentle warm-ups and receive step-by-step instructions for yoga postures and basic relaxation techniques. Your questions and interaction will be welcome. Yoga is popular for a simple reason. The practice will always meet you where you are, then help you move forward!  Whether your intention is to maintain wellness, seek a healing refuge from all of the business in your life, or learn how to grow personally or spiritually, now is the time to honor your intention. As a registered yoga teacher, Beth will provide safe instructions, sensitivity, acceptance, and encouragement to those who desire to learn about this practice. In today's hectic world, daily stresses and constant mental distractions put tension into our bodies, sometimes to the point of making us ill. The purpose of yoga is to soothe the inner spirit by calming the mind and body. Yoga poses help slow us down and we naturally become more focused and relaxed. As students grow in their yoga experience, the poses become more challenging, allowing the body to grow stronger and more limber. At any level, the benefits of yoga are the same-stronger muscular endurance, sharpened mental clarity, deeper flexibility, improved circulation and immunity and above all a heightened sense of well-being.
