Walker Johnston Bridge (12/1/2011)
Ta-Daa!! The NEW Walker Johnston Bridge is officially OPEN! "Approach wings" have yet to be installed, but it is ready for foot traffic!

Little Walnut Creek Trail
Due to saturation issues, the Little Walnut Creek Park trail project has been delayed until spring 2012. Despite tiling and rip rap to alleviate the saturated areas, it is still too wet to pave. A ditch will be installed to speed the drying process in hopes the trail may be paved in the spring. Questions may be directed to the Parks and Recreation department at 278-3963.
Ash Tree Inventory Members of the Urbandale Tree Board recently completed an Ash Tree inventory within the Parks System. An inventory of all ash trees was done in manicured areas of Parks and public areas. Trees were tagged and numbered with silver identification numbers and the inventory was entered into the City GIS mapping system. The trees will be monitored for the Emerald Ash Borer and the inventory list will be used for budgeting and planning in the event the ash borer reaches the Metro.
