Additional Open Swim Hours During Winter Break

There will be additional open swim hours from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Dec 22, 23, 26, 29 and 30. There will be games every day beginning at 2:00 PM. The pool will be open for all regular lap swim and open swim hours.  These hours are in addition to the regularly scheduled hours of operation.

Regular admission of $4 applies for anyone entering the pool area. There is no fee for annual pass holders.

 

NEW! B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Boat)

Bring your own boat with paddles to the pool! The boat and paddles should be made of cardboard and duct tape only – no markers or paint. This is a great FREE activity for clubs, Boy and Girl Scouts, families, etc. The race will be one lap (down and back - 60 yards). Races will go in heats, beginning with the youngest age group. Awards will be given for each category in speed and creativity.

Categories are as follows for both individuals and groups (three or more in the boat): 8 and younger; 9-11 years; 12-15 years; 16-18 years; and adults.

Sat, Feb 28; 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM (will go longer if needed)

 

Basic Kayaking Classes

Got a case of cabin fever? Let’s go kayaking on a cold winter day! Learn the basics of recreational kayaking from a Polk County Conservation (PCC) Naturalist in the comfort of an indoor pool. Participants will learn about types of kayaks, equipment, techniques, self-rescues, and have a chance to practice skills on the water. Plan on getting wet and bring a towel and a change of clothes. All equipment is provided.

Spring Carnival

We will have a LARGE inflatable slide to enter the water, along with carnival games and prizes!

$5 per person entering the pool area; only $1 for those with an annual pass.

Egg Dive

Join us for the 6th Annual Egg Dive! This has become very popular in Urbandale, growing each year, so come early. Children will be divided in age groups to dive for colored eggs in the pool. Each egg will be turned in for a prize!

$5 per person entering the pool area; only $1 for those with an annual pass.

Sat, Apr 4; Diving will begin with the youngest age group at 1:30 PM and continue until all age groups have participated.
