Solid Waste
The Solid Waste Division helps to maintain a clean and healthy Urbandale environment by collecting and disposing of residential garbage, trash, and yard waste. Household garbage is collected weekly, with special collections for leaves, Christmas trees, and household trash on a periodic basis.
Trash is collected by the City of Urbandale. Yard debris and household recyclables are collected by Waste Management through the metro area's Compost It! and Curb It! recycling programs.
Collection Schedule
Trash, Curb It! and Compost it! is normally collected Monday through Thursday. Residents should place their containers and Compost It! bags at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the morning of their collection day. To view the collection schedule route map click here.
