Skateboard Park

The City of Urbandale offers a Skateboard Park for area boarders.  The park is located at Walker Johnston Park, 9000 Douglas Avenue.  Boarders can enjoy an area with two sets of stairs with rails, two 20-foot wide escalated quarter pipes, a street spine, a 90-degree bank street hip, and a fun box. 

Please observe posted rules and regulations.  Protective gear is recommended:  helmet, wrist guards, pads, etc.

Skate Hours: 
6:00 a.m. until sunset, not beyond 10:30 p.m.

Skate Smart: 

• Skateboards and skates only
   
• Skating not allowed when surfaces are wet or icy
   
• Adult supervision required for beginning skaters
   
• One skater on a ramp at a time

Not Allowed:

• Bicycles or scooters
   
• Unauthorized equipment, ramps or obstacles
   
• Waxing of skate park surfaces
   
• Alcohol or drugs
   
• Glass containers or littering
   
• Graffiti, stickers, or vandalism of property
   
• Pets in the skating area

Skate conduct - Please:

• Use the trash cans and keep your Skateboard Park clean
   
• Share the skating space
   
• Help younger skaters learn
   
• Skate within your abilities
   
• Limit abusive language or profanity
