Recycling
Single Stream Recycling
Single stream recycling began July 1, 2009. Urbandale is the Black Lid Schedule and collection for Urbandale residents started the week of July 6th. Single stream recycling uses a recycling container like your current trash container. The containers are picked up every other week and please refer to the laminated sticker on your green recycling container for collection weeks. Recycling is a partnership between the City of Urbandale and the Metro Waste Authority.
To request a different container size or for more information on the single stream recycling program, click here to visit the MWA website. The MWA number for a new or smaller container is 24-GREEN.
