Public Transportation in Urbandale
Urbandale is a member of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART).  DART operates three routes in Urbandale (#4, #12 & #92) and an On-Call demand-response service within five zones.  DART's bus routes cover the cities of Altoona, Ankeny, Des Moines, Clive, Pleasant Hill, Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.  DART's fleet of 90 buses travels over 15,000 miles throughout the Des Moines area daily, making trips to shopping malls, major business districts, residential areas and schools.

  Stops at: Merle Hay Mall, Urbandale & Beaver, M.L. King & University, W. 6^th & Walnut, E. 12^th & Grand, E. 14^th & Cleveland, Park Fair Mall, E. 14^th & Aurora
  Changes effective April 25, 2010 include service will operate every 30 minutes during peak times and Saturday service will run the same as Sunday service (later start time and earlier end times)

• Urbandale Business Park Shuttle - Route #12 (PDF)
  Stops at: Merle Hay Mall, 86^th & Douglas, 123^rd Court & Meredith, 109^th & Douglas, Merle Hay Mall
  Effective April 25, 2010 this route will end.  Use On-Call service.

Express Routes in Urbandale:

  Stops at: Gloria Dei & Aurora, Ice Arena, 9^th & Pleasant, W. 6^th & Walnut, W. 7^th & Walnut*, E. 13^th & Walnut*, Ice Arena, Gloria Dei & Aurora
  * Not serviced at all times/by all buses

On-Call Service:                                                     
Urbandale On-Call is a neighborhood shuttle service that provides curb-to-curb transportation within the Urbandale On-Call service area.  The shuttle can take you from the curb outside your home or workplace to the nearest transit stop or other destinations within the On Call service area. Urbandale On Call is bounded by:

• I-80/35 - North                                                                      
• University and Douglas - South
• Merle Hay Road - East
• 128th St. and 132nd St. - West
