Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning & Zoning Commission consists of nine members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve five-year terms.

The Commission meets every other Monday at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at City Hall (3600 86^th Street). Visit the Calendar to view upcoming Commission meeting dates, agendas and minutes. Commission's Areas of Focus:

• Adopts and reviews the City's Comprehensive Plan, which outlines the long-range development of the community.
• Reviews and recommends all re-zoning, variances, site plans and preliminary and final plats.
• Reviews and recommends amendments to ordinances and regulations.
• Reviews and recommends on other issues as requested by the City Council.
• Reviews urban renewal plans for conformance to the City's Comprehensive Plan
