Urbandale Mayor and City Council

Urbandale voters elect a Mayor and five City Council Members as the official governing body of the City of Urbandale.  The Mayor and Council Members are elected to four-year terms and there is no limit on the number of consecutive terms one can serve.

The City Council establishes a set of strategic priorities every other year.  These priorities form the framework for the City Council's initiatives and policy decisions.

City Council meetings are held every other Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall (3600 86^th Street) and are open to the public.  Visit the Calendar to view upcoming Council meeting dates, agendas and minutes. To view prior meeting agendas and minutes visit the Document Library. 

The Mayor acts as the presiding officer of the Council and does not vote.  At least three Council Members are required to conduct an official meeting.
