Library Board of Trustees

The Library Board of Trustees consists of seven members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve six-year terms. The Board meets the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Urbandale Public Library (3520 86^th Street).  To discuss a Board item, please contact the Urbandale Public Library  (515) 278-3945.

Board of Trustees' Areas of Focus:

• Directs and controls all affairs of the public library, including its content, fixtures and rooms.
• Authorizes the Library Director to select and purchase reading and audio materials, fixtures and other supplies within approved budgetary limits.
• Sets fines for the failure to return books and other materials checked out by patrons.
• Preserved and protects the historical and education materials presented to the Library.
