July 4th Celebration 2010 - What a Ride
The July 4th Committee announced the following:

* Parking not available for cars in Urbandale High School lot due to Goldwing parking. Shuttles will be available from area parking lots. Watch for announcements.
Friday, July 2
- 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. - Trash to Treasures Sale @ Urbandale Senior Center
- 3:00-6:00 p.m. - Race packet pickup and registration @ Ralph Whitten Shelter House in Lions Park
- 4:00 p.m. - Urbandale High School Parking lot closed to car parking
- 5:00-10:00 p.m. - Bus Shuttle from Merle Hay Mall (south/west side) off Douglas Ave.
- 5:00 p.m. - Midway and Carnival opens at Lions Park
- 5:30-7:00 p.m. - Honda Goldwing Cruise/Parade from Des Moines to UHS*
- 7:00 p.m. - Honda Goldwing Drill Team in UHS parking lot*
- 7:45-11:00 p.m. - Concert with "Bob's Garage Band" Classic Rock n Roll @ Gazebo
- *** Sponsored by Metro Arts and July 4th Committee @ Gazebo
Saturday, July 3
- 7:30-10:00 a.m. - Community pancake feed at St. Stephen's for Urbandale Food Pantry
- 7:30 a.m. - William Courtney 5K @ Walker Johnson Park**
- 8:10 a.m. - Coach Silvey Kid's Mile @ Walker Johnson Park**
- 8:30 a.m. - Coach Gary Page Tot Trot @ Walker Johnson Park
- 10:00 a.m. - Parade starts by old Cit Hall, North on 70th to Aurora, west to UMS**
- Noon - Midway and Carnival opens at Lions Park
- 8:00-11:00 p.m. - Street Dance with "Flipside" on Aurora Ave.

- Noon - Cribbage Tournament registration @ Senior Center
- Noon - UHS Matt Vierling Alumni Soccer game @ UHS Ferichs Field
- 1:00 p.m. - Bob Dabrieo Cribbage Tournament @ Senior Center
- 1:00 p.m. - Jack "Sparky" Gooding Bike ride
- 1:00-4:00 p.m. Free swim if wearing red, white or blue suit @ Swimming Pool
- 2:30 p.m. - Jaycee Bathtub Race Registration
- 3:00 p.m. - Jaycee Bathtub Races on Aurora Ave.
- 4:00-6:00 p.m. - Jazz-n-July "Tony Valdez Large Band"***
