Recreational Swim
During public swim the pool is available to all ages for general play and the use of the diving board.
Cardiovascular Swim
Lap swim is designed for cardiovascular exercise, consisting of lap swimming, water jogging, or walking. Please be courteous to your fellow swimmers and circle swim when there are three or more people sharing a lane. Circle swimming means you swim down on the right and back on the right staying on the right side of the lane. Lanes are divided by fast, medium, and low intensity swimmers. Please ask the lifeguard on duty for assistance.

Note: All annual pass users receive a 20% discount off any fitness class at the pool. This does not include swim lessons.

A manager is present every time the pool is open to the public.

February 10 - Closed at 1:00 p.m. for High School event
February 11 - Closed for High School event
February 20 - Open additional hours from 1-4 p.m. & 7-8:30 p.m. for Winter Carnival
March 19-23 - Open additional hours from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for Spring Break
April 8 - Closed for Easter
April 20 - Closed at 8:00 a.m. for AEA workshop
April 21 - Closed for AEA workshop
May 12 - Closed for training
Swimming Pool Rules
The rules are posted in the locker rooms and on pool deck. These rules have been set for the health and safety of all patrons. Please follow the rules and treat those who enforce them with respect.
Water Temperature
Our pool is mainly used for recreational purposes and we keep the water temperature between 84-86-degrees to accommodate all types of activities in the water.
Pool Equipment
Kick boards, hand paddles and pull buoys are available for use during cardiovascular swims.
Lockers
Lockers are available for patrons use while they are using the facility. Please bring in your own lock to lock the locker and remove it at the end of each day. The Urbandale Pool is not responsible for lost or stolen items. No cell phones allowed in locker rooms. No food or drink in locker rooms.
Pool Refund Policy
To be eligible for a refund you must cancel at least 7 days before the first class meeting (14 days prior for pool rentals). After that, NO REFUNDS will be given unless:
a) The program or class is cancelled. The Urbandale Pool reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum enrollment requirements.
b) The participant is unable to participate because of unforeseen medical reasons. The refund will then be prorated based on the number of classes attended. If more than 50% of the program has been completed, no refund will be issued.
Refunds will not be issued for circumstances beyond our control, i.e. weather or electrical outages. (Please allow three weeks for a refund to be processed.)
Note: For any changes in lessons or programs, there will be a $5.00 administration fee.
