Urbandale Economic Development

The City of Urbandale is uniquely positioned at the crossroads of Interstate 80/35 and Iowa Highway 141, at the northwest corner of the Des Moines metro area.  Urbandale is located in both Dallas and Polk Counties.  As of the 2005 Special Census Urbandale's population was 35,904, with 12,401 households and a median income of $66,985. 

The Des Moines metro area is centrally located within the Midwest and Urbandale provides quick and convenient access to both Interstate 80 and Interstate 35.  The Des Moines International Airport allows you to reach either Los Angels, CA or New York, NY in under five hours.  Midwest regional markets within one days travel truck or rail service include Chicago, Kansas City, Omaha, Milwaukee and Minneapolis.
