Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission consists of three members who must be residents of Urbandale. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve six-year terms.
The Commission meets as needed. Meetings are held at City Hall (3600 86th Street). Visit the Calendar to view upcoming Commission meeting dates, agendas and minutes. Commission's Areas of Focus:
- The Commission's jurisdiction pertains to all full-time City employees, except the City's management team and staff members from the Library and Water Utility.
- Establishes and protects the rights of Civil Service employees.
- Provides for the fair examination, promotion and judicial treatment of Civil Service employees.
