CALEA Logo PhotoPURPOSE:
The purpose of CALEA's Accreditation Program is to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by: maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence.

In July of 2010, the Urbandale Police Department begun the CALEA accreditation process. It is the intent of the Chief of Police and the Urbandale Police Department to achieve accreditation within the three year time frame.

Urbandale Police Lieutenant Rob Johansen represents the Urbandale Police Department as its CALEA Manager.

For more information on CALEA click here or to contact Lieutenant  Rob Johansen with any questions about CALEA at (515) 252-8233.
