Board of Appeals

The Board of Appeals consists of five members, of whom three must be general or home building contractors and two members of the general public with a good understanding of building constructions. Architects and engineers are given preference. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve three-year terms.

Board's Areas of Focus:

• Reviews the model Building, Fire and Housing Codes and recommends adoption by the City Council.
• Reviews Building Code, Fire Code and Housing Code appeals.
