Board of Appeals
The Board of Appeals consists of five members, of whom three must be general or home building contractors and two members of the general public with a good understanding of building constructions. Architects and engineers are given preference. Members are appointed by the Mayor, approved by the City Council and serve three-year terms. The Board meets as needed. Meetings are held at City Hall (3600 86th Street). Meeting agendas and minutes are posed in the Document Library . Board's Areas of Focus:
- Reviews the model Building, Fire and Housing Codes and recommends adoption by the City Council.
- Reviews Building Code, Fire Code and Housing Code appeals.
