Assistant Fire Chief

Under the administrative direction of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief manages the planning of and directs the functions of the Fire Department.  The Assistant Fire Chief supervises department personnel in planning and assigning work projects, and following up on their progress. In short, the Assistant Fire Chief is responsible for supervision, coordination, evaluation and performance of UFD personnel.  

The Assistant Fire Chief, as part of the senior management team, is an integral part of the overall management of the Fire Division.   The Assistant Fire Chief determines, monitors and corrects all safety issues, with input of the Assistant Chief of EMS Division, and assists with the department's overall safety program.  Also the Assistant Fire Chief recommends appointments, promotions and interviews new hire candidates.
