Water Utility Board of Trustees View the 2007 Consumer Confidence Report (PDF) General Information The Urbandale Water utility provides water service to residents and businesses within the Urbandale city limits. The Water Utility purchases treated water from the Des Moines Water Works and distributes this water to the Urbandale customers. The Water Utility has two elevated water storage tanks and three booster stations that supply water to three pressure zones---as well as over 175 miles of water mains ranging in size up to 30” in diameter. The Water Utility’s main office is at 3720 86th Street. For information, please contact the Water Utility at 515-278-3940 or waterdept@urbandale.org. Direct-Pay What is Direct Pay? Direct Pay is a free service. Payment of your monthly water bill is automatic - so you save time, effort and postage. Plus, electronic banking makes Direct Pay accurate and reliable. How does Direct Pay work? You will receive your water bill before the automatic payment is made. Your financial institution will automatically deduct the amount due from your checking or savings account on the 15th of the month. The payment will be shown on the account statement your receive from your financial institution. How do I sign up? It's easy to sign up for Direct Pay! Just complete the authorization form, provide a voided check and mail to: Urbandale Water Utility, 3720 86th Street, Urbandale, IA 50322 You may also bring the completed from to our office or place it in the night depository. Authorizations received after the 13th of the month will be effective the following month. How will I submit my monthly meter reading? Since you will no longer have to mail a payment, you may call the Urbandale Water Utility office with your meter reading or request an Automated Meter Reading System. Questions?
