Parking regulations in Urbandale are governed by the City's Code of Ordinances. In general, parking is prohibited on the even-numbered side of the street. Typically, this is the south side of east-west streets, and the west side of north-south streets. Additionally, there are a number of locations throughout the City were this general rule is amended to further restrict parking, for example, near churches, near fire hydrants, etc.
In addition, in those areas where parking is permitted, no vehicle may be parked in the same spot for more than 24 consecutive hours. This ordinance serves to ensure that no vehicles are parked on the street primarily for sale purposes, or to sell merchandise.
In the event of a significant snow event, the City may implement the snow ordinance. In this case, parking on all City streets is prohibited until the snow has been cleared to curb to curb and the snow ordinance has been lifted.
Please read the parking regulations carefully for more information. For additional information, please contact the City at 515.278.3900 or cityhall@urbandale.org.
