Equipment Mechanic - Closes Friday, May 9, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.   The Urbandale Engineering and Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments seek a committed, hard working team oriented individual to perform a wide range of major and minor mechanical repair and maintenance tasks on various gasoline, diesel powered and other vehicles and equipment. 

This is a Civil Service Position.  Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two (2) years of responsible work experience in automotive and other motor equipment repair; one (1) year of vocational school training in mechanical repair and maintenance or an equivalent combination of experience to equal three (3) years.  A valid Iowa driver's license with a CDL-B for straight trucks over 26,000 GVW with endorsements for air brakes and tanker, or the ability to obtain the CDL-B within six (6) months of employment.
