City of Urbandale Logo

The aim of the controlled bow hunt is the reduce the high deer populations within the City.  The Urbandale controlled bow hunt allows for private property owners to set their own time line within the City's approved dates of 9/16/17 and 1/28/18.  All hunters must be approved the the Urbandale Police Department, as part of the Polk County/ Iowa DNR program.  In addition, three public spaces were opened to bow hunting.  These are parts of Northview Wetlands Park, Northview Park/Sylvan Ridge and Sunflower Park.
