75th Street & Douglas Avenue Intersection Improvements

This project will add left turn lanes and a new traffic signal at the intersection of 75th Street and Douglas Avenue. These enhancements will make the area safer, increase the capacity of the intersection, and reduce travel time through the intersection.

Project Status Update - 11/19/18

On Tuesday, November 20th, all traffic will be shifted to the south two lanes from 9 AM to 4 PM for the installation of pavement markings. This will provide for 1 eastbound and 1 westbound lane. After the work is completed Tuesday, Douglas Avenue will be reopened to provide for 1 westbound lane and 2 eastbound lanes.

The outside westbound traffic lane on Douglas Avenue is closed. The north leg of 75th Street is closed at Douglas Avenue.

The contractor has completed the street paving and temporary asphalt overlay. The contractor will continue to work on the sidewalk construction and traffic signal installation. Due to the weather delays this year, the project will not be completed. It is anticipated the project will be fully reopened to traffic with the use of the new left turn lanes around the end of the month. The patching and asphalt work on Douglas Avenue will be completed next spring.

Please see attachment below for a map of the project's phases. The entire project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2019.

This project will be constructed in three phases to help maintain access to businesses. At all times, a minimum of one lane for westbound and eastbound traffic will be maintained for the duration of the project.

Please expect delays in your commute and use an alternate route if possible.
