100th and 54th Avenue Street Paving Improvements

Project Description

The 100
th and 54th Avenue Street Paving Improvements project and the 100th Street Bridge Improvements project involves reconstructing the intersection of 100th Street and 54th Avenue and widening 100th Street from Plum Drive to north of Interstate 35/80 to a five-lane roadway.  A separate but related project will provide a new 100th Street bridge over Interstate 35/80 with pedestrian access.  These projects are anticipated to be completed in late November of 2016.  Items also included in this project would be grading, storm sewer, clearing and grubbing, pavement markings, restoration, and other related work.

Project Status Update - 8/31/2016

100th Street from Plum Drive to just north of NW 54th Avenue, and NW 54th Avenue between SE Glenstone Drive and NW 96th Street will be closed to all through traffic for the duration of the project.  The 100th Street Paving Project is anticipated to be completed in November 2016.

Utilities along 100th Street are substantially complete.  The mainline paving of 100th Street north of the bridge and the eastbound mainline of 54th Avenue is complete.  Some of the turn lanes and intersection paving has also been completed.  The southbound lanes of 100th Street south of the bridge have been paved.

The 100th Street bridge over Interstate 35/80 is completely removed.  All pilings for the north abutment have been driven and forms have been erected in preparation for pouring the abutment.  All beams have been set in place for the bridge.  Construction of the new bridge will require temporary interstate closures.  During this interstate closure traffic will be detoured along Douglas Avenue and 86th Street.
