The Stormwater Grant Program uses a portion of the Stormwater Utility Fees to assist with stormwater management on private property. These funds may be granted to property owners to prevent or repair stormwater related damage and to improve drainage. Examples of eligible projects include:
•Installation of a drain tile to dry a wet backyard.
•Measures to prevent erosion.
•Expense for a contractor to place bank reinforcement.
•Silt removal from stormwater detention areas. For detention areas to be eligible, the improvements must return the area to the original detention volume.
The program does not include the removal of sump pumps connected to the sanitary sewer or items related to sump pumps. The grant cannot be used for aesthetic improvements only. It does not cover work inside the home.
