Mother/Daughter Tea – May 13 

Saturday, May 13 from 10 to 11 a.m. Come celebrate the girls in your life by joining us for a Mother/Daughter tea party and decorating a May Basket.

Discover public art in Clive and Urbandale on this bike ride through the trails of these west side communities. This somewhat challenging route will take riders on an approximate 18 mile loop with guided tours of several art works in both communities. Ride time is estimated at 2 hours. The ride begins and ends at 515 Brewery in Clive. Registration is limited so register early through Clive Parks and Recreation. Call 223-5246 or register online at www.cityofclive.com. Registration includes the guided tour and a complementary beverage at 515 Brewery following the ride.

Urbandale Public Art Committee Seeking New Members

Are you interested in serving on the Urbandale Public Art Committee? The Committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at Noon at Urbandale City Hall. The Public Art Committee members are appointed by the Mayor and work to establish and implement community and public art projects in Urbandale. The areas of focus within the Committee are marketing and communications, logistics and fundraising. WHO: All ages welcome!  
Competition will be divided by age level.
WHY: This competition is a great chance for skateboarders to show off their stuff and win great prizes. It is also a neat way to showcase the skateboard park in Urbandale! The ramps at the park include: two 20ft. escalated quarter pipes, a 90-degree bank street hip, a street spine, and a fun box.  
WHERE: Urbandale Skateboard Park, Walker Johnston Park (9000 Douglas Avenue)
WHEN: Saturday, August 5. Competition begins at 11:00 a.m. (No pre-registration required.)

Want to show off your creativity and add your own art to Walker Johnston Park in Urbandale? Here’s your chance!
Community Youth Concepts and Urbandale Parks and Recreation have partnered together to celebrate the 8th Annual Sidewalk Chalk Flood! Join us at our new location on Saturday, August 26, 2017. This free event, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, is open to the public and brings together approximately 450 parents and youth to celebrate the hopes and dreams of youth and adults by flooding the Walker Johnston Park with their very own sidewalk chalk art. Music, family activities and games are provided for this uplifting family-friendly celebration.
