Bulk Item Collection

If you can not wait for the Spring Cleanup, the city will collect bulky household items on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month, by appointment. There is a fee for this service. Call 515-278-3950 or send an email to make an appointment.

Log & Limb Collection


Too much yard waste to bag or bundle? The city will collect large amounts of brush and tree trimmings on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month, by appointment. There is a fee for this service. Call 515-278-3950 or send an email to make an appointment.
 
 

Christmas Tree Collection


The city typically collects collect Christmas trees in the 2 weeks following Christmas during the normal trash collection. Trees must be free of all ornamentation and tinsel, and should not be in a plastic tree bag.

Tire Collection


An annual scrap tire collection occurs in April or May of each year for disposal of up to 10 scrap tires.

Storm Damage Collection


In the event of a sever storm causing City-wide damage, the city may offer a free curbside debris collection.

Bulk Leaf Collection


The City offers a bulk leaf drop-off location on select Saturday mornings in the fall.  Residents may also compost their leaves at home, or discard them through the curbside Compost It! yard waste collection program.

 Urbandale residents may drop off leaves, free of charge, at the Urbandale Public Works Facility, 9401 Hickman Road, on
Saturday, October 29th
 Saturday, November 5th
and Saturday, November 12th
Residents may bring leaves in any paper yard waste bag from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Containers and plastic bags will also be allowed as long as the yard waste is emptied from the container or bag at the site.  Please bring identification as checks will take place to make sure only Urbandale residents are utilizing the free service.  If you would like further information on this free program, please call the Urbandale Department of Engineering and Public Works at 278-3950 or email.
